And now our intrepid amateur photographer has bought a very eighties beast of a camera on eBay and is loving it to bits! Here are some of the results...

THINGZZZZ.
Hello, mostly I have recently been taking pictures with ye olde worlde filme cameras and thus the convenient uploading onto the internet is non existant. However, due to the novelty wearing off a bit and the fact that it cost me £13.99 to get ONE ROLL of 120 film developed (essentially £1 per exposure) and the fact that they might be crap has enticed me back to handy dandy digicam.
I took this outside the dentists. He said I have impeccable gums. Compliment of the week!

So the new camera has that little problem at the top of the picture where it blurs and fades or darkens but I've spent the evening playing with it to try and at least get a few decent shots simply because I'm not over-endowed with hobbies ;) Success has been limited and the majority of shots have gone straight in the recycle bin (which I have renamed "Hortense", also becuase of the dearth of hobbies). Here are the ones I liked best:

Behold the speedy snail. I tried to make him look like he was escaping from prison and had one of those searchlights on him. I believe my success was rather limited. ( As ever I provide you with more... ) |

Just a few pictures from the last week or so, really. I've posted a couple on some lj communities but I don't think any of you lot frequent those.
Probably a good life mantra but I found this on the beach about 10.5 miles from the nearest golf course. Maybe there comes a point when one should cease practicing and throw one's golfing eqipment into the sea. Or something equally philosophical. ( WHAT A LONG CAPTION ) |

Let's start with the view from my living room (which I ought to trim slightly on the left). ( I'm intrigued! ) |

Been feeling vaguely dissatisfied with the flower pictures since about halfway through the last post. They're all getting a bit samey with the flower dead centre and not much light variation etc etc. Partly I think this is due to the lack of a swanky graphics package because I'd love to manipulate the hell out of everything, and partly because I don't really know much about (a) my camera, and (b) photography in general. As a result we shall be entering an experimental period. "We" being *me* obviously although you're all coming along for the scenery.
Anyway, the crux of this is that if you like a particular picture a lot then (if there's a particular reason) then could you let me know? I worry sometimes that deep down I'm just not a very creative person and the fact that taking a good picture gives me difficulty when it's not of an already beautiful flower seems to back up my fears. But anyway, I have a separate journal for beating myself up so onward:
 That's my favourite one I think ( More... ) |
